Okay. So everything we had, to look forward to in the SJIMB is now over.

No more Renaissance,no more AP. No more Band Camp, no more Overseas Trip.

We are now ALUMNI of the great SJIMB.

Feels so weird to be leaving this great 2nd home to us. I remember hating it until the end of Sec 2 where I began to realise what wonderful people there are in the SJIMB - mainly you guys, my batch. I will miss SJIMB a lot but more importantly I will miss the 24 of you more. The times we had, playing music, planning outings, working out, having meals together, talking cock and just laughing our ass off. I treasure those moments the most. I hope none of us will be alone in our JC/poly life(ALL GO ACJC) because one batchmate is better than none, right?

Well, we all have something to remember, all the random moments, all the trips to KAP! Truth of Dare somehow no one chooses dare. Sigh..All those memories. Again, my feet hurts like shit and right shoulder/arm too. But I'm going to go on anyway.

It's done and over isn't it? 3 years ago, we were the first Sec 1 batch to march for AP and now we've just marched our last. Time sure does fly eh. All the memories we had, like Jian You's gloves and shower room incident, QM's, Nicholas' and Ryan's retardedness, Ben Tay's horniness and MANY more. Be it good, bad or simply unforgettable in any way, these memories will stay with us forever.

In a way I must say, we're really lucky. We are extremely blessed that all 25 of us some how ended up in SJI and somehow ended up in SJIMB. Any ONE of us being taken out or replaced would have made a significant impact on our state. Our batch kind of has all sorts of characters there could be. The academically-inclined, the musically-inclined, the physically-inclined, the slackers, the ponners, the enthu people, the hardworkers. The kind, the nice. The bastard, the funny. But when we all come together, we somehow forge this weird yet special bond that everyone can relate to. The bond that lets us forget about what others think. This bond is what assures us, that we truly are the best batch ever.

We may have regretted joining the band at some point of time. Some of us, at the early stages of Sec 1[because of the want to be in another CCA], others at Sec 4 level[because of the realization that Band burns too much precious time for O levels]. However, I sincerely hope noone dares to think such a thought after today. The SJIMB has given me the best quarter of my life so far. And I earnestly wish it has done the same for you.

Today, I couldn't control my sadness and let open the floodgates with I hugged Desmond. That's why I have to say that this experience we have is unique, guys. The SJIMB experience. Treasure these last few months together until our official official passing out. Really. You won't know until you lose it.

Hey Guys...Today is the day....our last official parade......Damn time passes freaking fast...Well....I can proudly say SJIMBatch of 2010 is too simply awesome.From sec1, we all joined band, not knowing what our future will be..The truth is i was quite afraid...but now.. i have 27 brothers.. Renaissance XVII

I'm exhausted, my eyes are red and my limbs are dying. But what can I say? Renaissance was the BOMB <3

Sure we had hiccups here and there. Occasionally change in tempo etc. But overall we enjoyed ourselves right? The audience's reaction was great and we even ended up playing FOUR encores! All in all it was still a night to remember in so many ways. I hope you enjoyed your Renaissance like I did. Hopefully next Renaissance alumni can play! Haha. Wow. Time flies.

Anyway, this is to be a gleeful post so I won't emphasize that SCHOOL STARTS TOMORROW and we have O LEVELS in 4 months! Lol but for today, I guess, just sleep/relax. We deserve a short break. :D

After 4 years of playing, it doesn't matter much to me whether we play extremely well later on, but if you enjoy the music i am very happy already ^^ this will be our last concert, our last official sound, and most importantly our last lap of the the race already. We can only do up to an extent, some may say its not enough, but i say we show them what we've got, we show them SJIMB! So lets put on a good show =)

Here's what we have decided so far...
1) We're going to Malaysia, Genting Highlands.
2) It's gonna be a 5 day 4 night trip.
3) We'll be taking coach/bus to and fro.

Roughly Decided:
--> Date most likely 29th Nov to 3rd Dec
--> We leave Singapore early morning like 8-9am
--> We will be leaving Malaysia around that timeas well.

We care more about being together, away from all forms of stress rather than what we doing everyday/ the activities.

Yet to be decided:
--> What can we do for 4 days worth of activities?
--> Options for an adult/teacher to follow us. Or whether we even need one or if parents still have violent objection with no adult company.
--> Details - Accomodation and Travelling

Update your parents on this and ask what they recomment or advice from here on. Hope this thing can turn out to be perfectly successful :D

Hey guys, I'm organising a batch mugging session

Venue: King Albert Park[KAP] MacDonald's
Time: 11am to evening

You can leave whenever you want but most of us will stay till evening. Noone should have anything like church or tuition cause it's like a Public Holiday. It's not compulsory but dun give 'too far' as an excuse. Some of you may argue that the environment is not conducive for studying. It's true but too a very small extent. With smart batchmates like Zainul, all your questions would be answered before you can pronounce"geethakrishnan". My suggestion is that if you're coming don't choose subjects which require memorising like History and Social Studies etc.

Best subjects to study there:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- E./A. Math
- Geography(still a bit of memorising though)

my dear sec 4 batchmates,

our time in the SJIMB is almost over and how we wish we could live this life changing experience of loving the band, being the first batch to march for AP, going for the japan trip, getting the Gold with honours and most importantly, taking over the band.

often we recall those sec 1 days, how young as a bandsman we were, those happy memories of edmund sleeping during sectionals, sebastian running away from insects and elton pleading with ryan. we were followers then, only caring about learning and getting into the main band, and more often than not getting into trouble but not getting punished by our kind ROs, Ping Yi and Zhi Xiong. sometimes i wonder if it was our ROs kind treatment to us that gave us our pride and unity as a batch.

as we moved on to sec 2, we started to learn how to love the band, and through DM dominic yao's guidance and leadership we learnt to bond with each other and love the band even more. the many pumping sessions we had throughout the year made us think of our commitments to the band. the many QM's staffs we had bonded us even closer and the time spent in japan together and the many experiences throughout the year like trying out how to teach sec 1s music made us a batch that seemed strong, united and full of love for the band.

however as we progressed to sec 3, a new world awaited us. we had to learn how to lead the band. our bonds were tested and some felt that the band was the place they did not want to go anymore. our unity and love in the band was in a mess. some gave up, but some had faith in our batch, that ours will be a good batch of leaders in the end. after a while, with some unseen magic, those that worked hard to bond the batch together again eventually were successful.

now, in our final months as leaders, we should pass down any experience we have yet to pass down and make every effort to make all bandsmen united, strong and full of love for the band as our seniors did before us, that groomed us into one of the best batches the band has ever seen. to maintain our standards in the four aspects of band, lets make our remaining time in the SJIMB a time we will never forget in our lives and make the sec 1s fit in the band, make the sec 2s love band and make the sec 3s learn how to lead the band, as our seniors taught us how when we were still learning.

so remember, our time in the band is limited but it doesnt mean we cannot make a difference before leaving. lets all start by turning up on the next parade to revive the passion in the band.

A year ago, we were celebrating our victory together. And now, we are nearly stepping down already! When I really try and sink this feeling, it really sucks. had another damn impromptu batchouting on 26 march. after the noob moodle crashed we all felt damn bored. duh. but elearning more boring haha. so talking cock on msn led to us wanting to go out. after talking so much crap in a mass convo. we eventually decided to go ps for lunch/pool.

then karthik smsed and msned me to wear skinnies. and he went like please wear luh i don't want to be the only one. so i took sympathy and wore mine there. then i found out this mega bastard didn't wear his skinnies. lol and we effervescenced joshua and samuel chong. lol so gross. there was like. chilli and curry powder. then when everyone laughing i chillied karthik too :D then i got chillied back. somemore went onto my jeans. so after i washed up and came back from toilet.

Good morning everyone. This is my 1st post before I sleep. Today was so fun, finally my section has somebody that has musical background other than euphonium. Ryan plays the piano!! He claims to be grade 5-6. Wahh so pro. He DSAed in to SJI with score of 222 and guess his class? No its not 111 its 110. Haha joke of the century. I remembered last week after Mr Bryan Poon slammed my desk to wake me from my sweet dreams, he showed us a video of William Hung, maybe because both of them are Hong Kong-ers. Anyway, the video is a reminder for us to be brave, and it's perfectly alright to be lousy, as long as you practise hard. Reward for work, Work for reward (hmm where did this come from?? ahh nevermind). Im pointing at this person, and I wished he would practise hard and get the reward he deserves.

I'm currently at the airport, going to India. Coming back on 3rd Jan, night. Some mega torture chamber there. But anyway, I wanted to tell all of you something rather important.

Recently, I have noticed that our batch is somewhat tearing apart and it is really quite painful to watch. Some of us are getting easily pissed at one another for trivial matters. Also, some of us are sticking to our favourite bunch within our batch, more often than previously. We cannot let this happen to our batch. Come on guys, we are one batch. A batch of 25. Not 5 or 6. Mix around as much as possible. I know it is natural to like some more than others but don't let yourself completely ignore the others you less like. Talk to one another. And if he tends to ignore you, dont be demoralised or annnoyed. When you see him in person, tell him that what he had done was a bit rude etc.

Another thing is that the line between Top Management and the rest, or SLs and the rest, is getting thicker. The communication is lacking. Tops and SLs, remember to humble yourself and recognise that you are part of a bigger picture, the batch and even bigger, the band. The rest like me, don't make yourself feel inferior in any way. You will never be scolded for criticising[in a non-rude manner] or commenting[constructively] on the way the Tops or SLs are running parades or sectionals. I'm sure they will take your comments on board, yeah? All of us joined the band without knowledge of posts etc. All of us joined the band as 25 recruits. Always remember that please.

Oh and some people keep telling ME that the batch blog is dead. Why tell me? Remember that all of you guys are permitted to post on this blog. Don't complain, do something about it!

On a lighter note, there's like only, what? 10 days left for the holidays? Start getting in the school mood. O levels isn't going to be easy shit. But nevertheless, enjoy the remainder of the holidays guys! I will miss you guys a lot.

Edmund, Cherng Hao and I took a bus from Toa Payoh to 1 stop after KAP. (When the bus passed by KAP Edmund was like "Isn't that our stop?" Then even though we know that Ji Yang lives in Hua Guan Crescent, we all went to Mayfair Gardens. After about 1 1/2 hour of being bus3rded, we found Hua Guan Ave. Then Cherng Hao saw "Yay! Number 5!" then "LOL STONE AVE" but there was no one at home :-( so we continued walking until we saw Hua Guan Crescent! We saw Ji Yang's maid there, then Edmund go up to her and say "Ji Yang?" she nodded her head and started opening the gate for us o.O Then blablabla, we found Ji Yang and gave him some chocolate and cher(r)ie(s) because we know how much he loves her/them. Then we took a tour of his house o.O Glass floor. His calendar damn freaking nice. Edmund has pics and video :-D

Okay guys, things are already somewhat finalized for the BBQ...I've booked two BBQ pits at my house from 6pm to 10pm and I need a few of you to come earlier to help me with the preparation. For the rest of you, make sure you turn up between 5pm to 6pm coz dinner starts at 6pm(don't be late). Unfortunately, this time's attendance would be worse than our previous BBQ. Boaz(again - no reason), Brian(family reasons) and Edmund(went back to Indonesia) cannot make it for the BBQ for sure. Nat(cannot be contacted) and Cherng Hao(went overseas, coming back on Thursday) might or might not be able to turn up depending on the situation...All food are Halal and non-beef, so don't worry. Here are the details...

Time: -2pm(for those who wanna help me with the preparation - please let me know first)

-Between 5pm to 6pm(for the rest of you)

Things to bring:-

This is compulsory for all Sec 3 bandsmen.

We will all be meeting at the bandroom at 9am sharp, to practise our Blue Ridge Saga.

Attire - PE/Band Tee/ Sch Uniform.

The A.Tops will be assessing the Sec 1s for their drills test. That will take place for around 2 hours. So we will also be practising for around 2 hours, of course, with occasional breaks. Myself and maybe 2 others[any volunteers?] will leave halfway through to buy the tickets for the movie - 2012 - for some afternoon show. Probably for a show that starts around 2 to 3pm.

At roughly 11am, AQM will lock up the bandroom, after we have completed practising and kept our instruments. At this point of time, you can change to your poseur clothes. Then, this is when everyone(including myself + the 2 others) will meet to head for Plaza Singapura for the lunch and movie.

We will be having lunch at Mac Donald's due to sentimental reasons. Most likely in time for the McValue Lunch. This is the main bonding period of the time. So let's not fight but instead joke around like there's no tomorrow!! Yay. Then we go up to the cinema like 15min before the show start, to buy popcorn or whatever for whoever wants to.

*After the movie, we must stay for the credits and be like the last few to leave. Then we MUST take a batch photo at the aisle of the place you walk after movie thing like last time. Someone please bring CAMERA! *

After the movie, you can go home if you really need to. But there is a high chance many of us wil head to Paradiz for a LAN session or Monster Cue for a Pool session. Suggestions are open! Please comment!

After reading the 100 previous posts from the archives, I feel in the mood to post again. Lol.

SYF period was a great one, everytime we came to band, there seemed a very important purpose for every one of us. An agenda we wished to work towards. Many of us may[and some definitely do] feel that parades now have seemed useless or purposeless. But trust in the A.Tops, Mr Tan and Ms Tan. They plan so much for us and are continuing to do so - with hearfelt effort. There is still much to look forward to in the coming months for the band, so put in your 100% in those 4-5 hours every thursday and saturday after parades resume. We can do this.

On a side note, I hope everyone is studying hard for the Final Years. Many subjects, many topics, a lot of content to remember, with time running out. Stress could be taking over you but dont fret. We are there for one another. That's why I'm here to tell you,

hi guys, APs finally here at last, and it is now our turn to experience how it feels like to take over the band, though we will only have full power at the end of the year. for the tops, its time to learn how to improve yourselves to suit your tasks. for the rest of us, it should be time we got over the promotion and become role models of the band, and to show the rest of the band that we really deserve the titles of sec 3s.

after tomorrow, its also time for us to improve the band as a whole, not only as a batch. we have to plan ahead to consider how we can achieve this, to gain the respect of our juniors, and to achieve this, our discipline must be there, our drills must be in tip top condition, and our music must be the best in the band.

through all this, we can truly become the leaders of tomorrow, and let us start by marching our best tomorrow, and by showing the rest of the band how ceremonials should be worn.

Band Outing

Yay! Today had band outing... However only 18 ppl went. Our batch outing has more ppl than band outing. Lols wad an irony.

So anyways.... First we met at Bedok interchange at 930 to go to East Coast Park. We took bus to Vjc den make our way to the park by walking.... It was a fun and enriching walk...

Upon reaching the park, we still gotta walk some more to the bicycle kiosk... The whole outing 50% walking. Borrowed 15 bikes and 2 skates... The 2 skaters are Samuel Chong and our dearest Sebastian!!

We cycle for about 1.5hrs. Theres a big news to share. Wei Jia Pin Ren crashed into each other, supposingly i heard pin ren flew when he crash.. Lols. Lucky no1 was hurt but the poor bike got damaged... And that freaking cost the 16 of us $30... THX UNCLE.

Anw after all the sweaty and hot activities, we went for bowling at Marine Bowl. Lols Saxes vs the rest.. Wad epic... Played 2 games, 1st rd was some kind of shit... but its jux warm up ... Haha nxt game was a fun one, although didnt really own... So many funny incidents wif the ball happened.. If u wanna know, come for the next outing!!

After that we went for lunch at Macs.

Right after lunch, the group split and some of us made our way to bukit timah for a game of pool.... It was fun winning a game wif Wallace, the supposingly pro. But i guess it was jux some fluke i had. Haha

hello guys, promotional parade is over. many of you are probably feeling sad or happy now that you have been promoted.

to those that got a acting top post, treasure it! don't be complacent. doesn't mean that you've got the post and you can slack now. work hard to be confirmed as a top. gain the respect of your batchmates as well as the band itself. show who you really are, as DM thinks of you. don't ignore your batchmates and just focus on the band.

to those who got a SL post, you've been chosen according to your skills in music, as well as your leadership skills. don't be sorry that you did not get a top post. as Sir Dom said, it doesn't mean that you are not a top and you can't contribute to the band anymore. show that you are capable to lead your section to greater heights, teaching them skills and hopefully lead them to at least a gold in SYF 2011.

to those who did not get a post at all, don't lose hope. if you think that you're probably better than someone else who got a post, show it. your actions will not be ignored.

to those who are unhappy that they did not get a post or a acting top post, don't dwell on it too much, anyway, accept it as there is someone able to do the job better than you. you should be happy in fact, that someone is able to help the band better. trust DM's decision.

to those who do not want their posts for what ever reason. don't let go of your posts. DM trusts you and thats why he chose you for the job. don't quit because you can't do it. maybe DM sees something in you that can help the band as a whole.

to the batch, don't drift further apart. remember the happy memories that we spent together. the batch BBQ, the parades we had cleaning the bandroom, the times we got pumped together, instructors course, bandcamp, SYF, batch outings. see how much fun we had then, don't because of the posts break up further. the people who didn't get a post, don't make yourselves like outcasts of the band, lets lead the band as a batch! as sir dom said just now, breaking up the batch is easier than building bonds within the batch.

i remember somebody telling me this in sec 1, "we come as strangers, we leave as brothers". don't let anything affect our friendship. we are one batch, one sound and with three years of bonding

As you all may know, its only 2 more weeks until Mid Year Exams start. So why not we have study groups, so that we can study and share our knowledge together? In that way, we can learn from one another and hopefully we can improve from the subjects we are weak in.

Okay, for a start, those people who aren't involve in the Supreme Court Performance and are free on that day, Karthik and I are going to study together, so you all can join us too if you want.

Lets perform well this exam cause it would be like 10% of our overall marks.

Woah. Was that fun or what. 23 out of 25 people turned up yesterday, making it the most successful batch outing ever. To Boaz and Jian You, please try to make it next time, you're missing out on A LOT. So yeah.. Sad you couldn't make it. Also, I apologise to Samuel, Edmund, Nathaniel and Cherng Hao. Unfortunately we had to take the photo without you guys since you had to leave earlier. Nonetheless, it was a great gathering! I had fun dunking Raphael, Desmond and Ben Tay xP. Daveraj, Nicholas, Thaddaeus, Daniel, Sebastian and Ryan, all of you just escaped out of pity. LOL. Especially dave and nicholas who were dragged all the way to the edge of the pool =P

Oh well, that just brings me to tell you guys, next time we have a gethering near swimming pools or beaches, you better bring extra clothes! yeah.

Next parade is tmr, morning assembly. 7am, tie, badge. See ya! Good luck finishing your homework.

wa im damn sleepy and still very full... btw the outing was fun, especially when brian got dunked at the end (haha). But overall it was quite successful to me cause i enjoyed it (due to dunking raphael, hehe), but there was 1 person who spilled 7Up on my leg which was damn sticky (U know who u are). Okay, just now was our kinda really successful BATCH OUTING BBQ (BOB).
It was fun because
A) most of us were there
B) Many people were dunked (not including me of course :-)
C) There was food :-)
D) The rain stopped (altho it would have been better if it didn't rain at all)

It was NOT fun because
A) SUFI burnt my DOUBLECHEESEBURGERWITHOUTPICKLESWITHOUTONIONSWITHDOUBLECHEESE

Lessons to learn :
A) NEVER wear long pants to BBQs/Chalets without bringing extra clothes
B) ALWAYS bring extra clothes when going anywhere with a swimming pool
I suppose i shouldn't preach what I practise as I don't practise what I preach. <--BTW no meaning whatsoever, as its contradicting itself.

batch gathering

Alright. Tomorrow is our first batch outing/gathering after a long time and after syf. So its a BBQ so we need food and drinks. Oh and try not to bring the usual stuff. If you have like homemade muffins or wtv bring em!

ALSO, if you are LAZY, or find it inconvenient to bring food items along, you can alternatively, contribute money for pool games. So preferably, contribute like $5 if you not willing to bring food.

Okay, here is the people who are able to make it. Please inform me whether you can make it so that I can include it in the list. Also tell me what you can contribute. If it's money, please state how much you are willing to contribute.

Okay, it's finally here. Just to settle some things:

1. This is a BATCH outing. Please don't invite ppl from other batches, current or otherwise. If we wanted that, it would be called a BAND outing. Not trying to be selfish, but the focus of a BAND outing would be different

2. Details about my house:
- Called Pine Grove condominium
- On Ulu Pandan Road
- Near Clementi MRT
- Some buses that go pass from Clementi: 151, 154, 156
- Near Buona Vista MRT
- Bus from Buona Vista: 92
- Near Orchard MRT
- Bus from Orchard MRT: 7
- There is a swimming pool, so bring swimming stuff if you want
- There is a pool table (as in billiards), so bring 1-dollar coins (1 game 2 x $1)

3. Is anyone willing to contribute things for the BBQ like:
- Beef
- Fish
- Prawns
- Drinks (IMPORTANT)
- Disposable untensils
- Boaz, no McDonald's please
I know people have dietary restrictions. I already know about those who can't take pork and of course, Sam, who can't take beef. If you have allergies, please contact me.

4. Whoever wants to can bring a soccer ball too

And also, after that, we will be playing soccer and having a friendly match with the sec 2s and 1s who are going to play. So let's all work together and OWN like we did last time ;D So yeah, try to make it ah. Reporting time is 8am to 9am I think. Not too sure.

today we gave everyone a name to fear. cos we got gwh :D really i couldn't believe it. daniel was still dampening my nervousness by saying 'i think we got chance of getting silver' D:< lol. but i guess when they said gwh for us, we really let loose all our anxiety? lol. cm said just clap yet he jumped over to sgt glen. XD. so well i guess it is back to the military part now. btw i seriously liked J for jericho. the perc solo damn... dunno how. sounded damn fierce. :D some of us may have screwed up, tuning wrong notes by accident etc. yea but shouldn't care cos. we got. gwh! :D just learn from those mistakes. yea i played wrong notes twice :( and if i am not wrong, the GWH bands get to perform on presentation night so i guess that might be one more performance for us. dunno BS says so. but too many gwh this year lah. maybe will have some GWH bands only. heck. OH YEA. mye is coming. lol sorry for spoiling. but it is only 5 weeks away. :D mug now if you are slow like me.

Great. We did it. We truly did it. But let us maintain the standard we have achieved and not be too arrogant. Also let's thank the following people.
Alumni/ Sec 4s of 2008 - They lead us last year to be disciplined and this year they have come back so willingly to support us. Sirs Dominic, Kai Xiang, Qilin, Gabriel CHIN, Victor, Aaron, Lee Hoe, Nat, James, Luqman, Christopher and many more who came back even after their hectic JC schedule. And also Sirs Ian Chai, Zhi Xiong, Xueyu, Melvin who came down today to support us instead of going to school. Lol.
Sec 4s of 2009 - They lead us with pride and guided us in our music all along the way to SYF.
Teachers - Mr Sirhan, Mr Ng Shu Lit and Ms Adeline Tan especially, who showed their dedicated guidance and support to the band and our decisions. Undoubtedly, they have helped us in many ways.
Mrs Chua - A very important person as she was the one who guided us in our Sec 1 days, when we knew nothing about music, but she taught us with enthusiasm and determination. A warm motherly figure in the band who enlightened us and motivated us with her many inspirational stories.
Mr Tan - Without him we would be nothing. From a Silver to Gold with Honours isn't something many other conductors can boast about. He brought us together, touched up upon all our mistakes and made sure we played extremely well, all without any prompting. He chose a beautiful piece for us and it's because of him that we have reached such a standard.

Thank you all. But guys, be proud. Proud to be a bandsmen of a Gold with Honours Band - the SJIMB.

hey guys! hahha tomorrow is SYF alr. So fast? lol anyways. Just do your best and make sure that you yourself enjoy the music u make. No matter what award we get in the end, just play ur best. No one will blame you for anything. when playing, dont even think of the award. As thaddeus said (undergoing my paraphrasing of course) if we aim for gold, we will not get it. just move with the music, and enjoy it. and as Mr Sze told my section, dont be scared to play out just because there is an audience. just ignore the potenial public malu-ation and play your hearts out.:)

Anyway, i hope u hv completed your e-learning hmk because if u didnt and looking at this now... just go finish it! just enjoy yourself tmr by enjoying the music and take it as a fun and learning experience, and a note 'DONT GET NERVOUS', instead think that u are gonna play good music, the crowds are gonna cheer for us! we are doing very well, just keep it up for around 5 more days!!! Enrichment Day

Today was quite an ENRICHING day. (GEDDIT GEDDIT!?!?) Anyway, I'm sure we all learnt a lot from our various modules. Tomorrow is e-learning day, which I feel has an extremely important purpose(holiday) and the day after that, Saturday, will be our concert! That is our 'final round' before SYF, the last time we can get used to the SCH environment. Time is precious. But remember not to stress yourselves out too much. Some photos to cheer you all up(:

Having no confidence is better than being overconfident. Being modest is better than having ego. We do not play to win, we play to show the best that we can do. No bandsmen would step out of Singapore Conference Hall, with tears in his eyes, mourning over what they achieved. Whatever it is that we get for SYF, we receive it with honour. In memory of all the blood we shed, let us be proud of what we will achieve.

But on the flip side, remember that although we WILL try our best for SYF, there is always the chance of a Random Element in Life, nothing is certain, now or forever, just remember that we tried out best, and be, not to the extent of arrogance, proud of what we will play for SYF, and we will reap our reward after.

Alright, first of all, PLEASE POST!!!!!

Yeah.. anyway, Instructor's Course was just over, but the process still goes on. I'm sure we all learnt a lot about leadership and the band. And I'm sure we all bonded a lot more through these 3 days. Haha. The dance was really enlightening. Don't forget the timing! 1, 2, 3, Spasm, 1, Spasm, 1, Spasm, SPASM! 1, 2, 3, Bang, 2, 2, 3, Bang.... and yeah so on. Haha really interesting. Batch dance! So yeah anyway, our focus should be back on SYF cause it's coming in less than 2 weeks! [refer to countdown --> ] Oh and I don't think we're supposed to be revealing anything about Instructor's Course to the Sec 2s. So all Sec 2s who visit this blog, don't bother to ask us. Yeah..

And oh yeah, this Friday is e-learning day, a totally useless purpose, but a totally helpful holiday. So Brian, Samuel and I thought that we can have another batch outing on that day.We decided that we can have BBQ and games at Brian's Condo. He will check whether it is open for booking and we should probably finalize by Wednesday at the max. The next day would be our concert so I don't think there is going to be parade in the morning so we can afford to enjoy to A BIT late say, 10/11pm? Anyway all details on Wednesday/Thursday. Book this day ah! Don't go for class outings or whatsoever. Yeah..

Watch! Damn freaking funny! Haha. Lol. Anyway, tomorrow is St.Pat's Day. Make sure starch your tunic properly, polish your boots until shiny shiny and also your brass parts. All the usual stuff. Tomorrow is gonna be damn tiring so just be prepared. Mainly cause,

I just want to add on to what Zuriel said. I agree that we have to do our best and do it OUR way. We must put on a good show and that way we'll avoid disappointment. Anyway, Mrs Chua always mentions that on Thursdays we play very bad. So I just feel that we should be less sian. Since tomorrow is Friday's time-table, last period would be PSE - a non-examinable subject. So like, it wont be so tiring so just get a bit more hyped up for band during PSE , that way you wont be so sian when you play your instrument. So yeah, hope you get what I'm trying to say. Good luck anyways. Cheers!
